Multi-Tasking
is an art or a talent that comes from practice. I know the newer generations
are upcoming multi-taskers because of the new digital era that has swept upon us.
I was given the title of multi-tasker by the Pop Studio quiz. I received a 76
multi-tasking score, which did just meet the standard. I am not surprised since
I have always been able to do a bunch of projects, homework, or interactions
all at the same time. I usually am juggling my job as a Peer Mentor, running a
club, hanging out with friends, and homework all at the same time.
Our generation is going to be upcoming
multi-taskers because of how kids do their homework around TV’s or some type of
music. Also, kids are beginning to get used to texting, calling, talking,
watching television, and typing on the computer all at the same time. Focusing
has been a big problem noticed as well in kids. Their minds are constantly
bouncing around and all over the place. As a babysitter, I have noticed the
lack of concentration and easy boredom of a child. I could play with my Barbie dolls
for hours and be perfectly content. The newer generations play with their video
game, dolls, or each other and become bored in a matter of minutes. The health
hazard of kids developing ADD has been the upcoming question. I feel that kids
need to learn to focus and muti-task at the same time. I am a calm multi-tasker
and it takes a good amount of work to make me feel overwhelmed. I think maybe
if kids did have a period of time in the day where they slowed down with all
the digital technology and read a book, they might be a tad bit calmer.
